About Me
My name is Nikki Sieczkowski and I am the art teacher at Sterling Community School. I hold a Connecticut Art Educator Certificate for grades K-12. I graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Art Education.
When I am not teaching, you can find me pursuing one of my many hobbies. I enjoy creating art (of course), hunting, fishing, kayaking, riding my Harley, snowmobiling, camouflage painting, playing with my dog Lucy, and reading - just to name a few ;) Throughout my life I have spent a lot of time building practical knowledge and life skills such as carpentry, welding, operating equipment/machinery, driving big rigs, utilizing caveman navigation (a.k.a. reading maps!) and much, MUCH more. I feel that bringing this type of knowledge and experience into the classroom is one of the most valuable things I can share with my students who are growing up in a world where people are becoming less and less self reliant. My goal as a teacher is not to make my students into artists, but rather to use art as a vehicle to teach them about life. |
